Ed Gillespie: Ralph Northam “Disdains those who he disagrees with”

Yesterday, Ed Gillespie called into Joe Thomas’ morning show to talk about the general election. Check out these highlights:

On Unity: “We’re bringing in folks from who supported Frank Wagner and Corey Stewart they’re welcome very much not only welcomed, but wanted to join our campaign and we’re seeing that. And I think people see the clear differences and that’s what’s going to make them, you know, motivate folks.”

On the Republican Ticket: “We are running as a ticket and Jill Vogel has been a very effective state senator and will be a very effective lieutenant governor. I’ve known Jill for a very long time, we’ve good friends for a long time, and that’s true of John Adams as well. John is an incredible lawyer, a great candidate, and would make a fantastic Attorney General.”

On the Importance of the Election: “I truly believe that this next election is not just about the next four years in Virginia, it’s about the next twenty to thirty years. That’s where we are. We are in a critical juncture here in Virginia and the next governor is going to determine whether or not, frankly we as a Commonwealth, we look and feel a lot more like states to our North when it comes to higher taxes, and more regulations and a compulsory unionism, stifling top down approach to economics that result in the nation’s economic policy. Like New York, Connecticut or New Jersey or are we going to be more like states to our South? The Carolinas and Georgia and Florida where they have dynamic economies.  All those states are in the top 20 states of economic growth. We are number thirty-nine right now.”

On the Choice in November: “When you look at Ralph Northam who in his primary really moved very far left I mean he emerged from that primary as an angry liberal. He doesn’t just disagree with people he disdains those who he disagrees with. He really looks down on us.”
