Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin will campaign for longtime conservative leader and 2017 Republican candidate for governor Ed Gillespie in Virginia next week. Bevin will join Gillespie for stops in Lynchburg and Staunton on Thursday, February 9, 2017. Bevin joins a growing list of conservative Republican governors backing Gillespie, including Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, former South Carolina Governor and current U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey.
“We are excited to welcome a strong, conservative leader like Governor Matt Bevin to Virginia and look forward to hitting the campaign trail with him next week,” said Gillespie. “Governor Bevin knows what it’s like to follow in the footsteps of failed liberal policies. He has already accomplished a lot, and we can learn from that as we continue to build a positive, substantive policy agenda for the Commonwealth. Governor Bevin and I will visit Lynchburg and Staunton to talk about how conservative ideas can turn Virginia around after four years of failed liberal policies.”
“Ed Gillespie is an ideas-driven and solutions-oriented leader who knows that conservative policies can grow the economy, foster private-sector job creation and lift people out of poverty. I am excited to campaign for him next week,” said Governor Bevin. “In Kentucky, we’ve brought people together behind conservative principles and policies. Across the country, Republican governors are also proving that our approach delivers results. I know Ed Gillespie can do the same for Virginia.”
Gillespie and Bevin will stop in Lynchburg and Staunton. A full schedule of events will be announced.
